Kurtis is from the rural town of Iola, Texas. Growing up he enjoyed adventuring in the woods around him, and through this he began to respect the raw beauty that nature provides. His goal is to integrate this nature into our rapidly expanding urban centers, and allow others a taste of the beauty that shaped his life.

When not scheming up plant combinations, he enjoys playing pickup basketball, beating his own course record at frisbee golf, or participating in anything that allows him to be competitive. He also enjoys learning more about his Catholic faith, and relaxing each morning with a cup of creamer with a hint of coffee.
