To reimagine an existing library campus in an established part of San Antonio, Coral Studio was brought in to explore potential master plan options to create an outdoor community space that seamlessly integrated with the library’s existing program. Recognizing the importance of efficient and convenient access, we rerouted the parking entry to improve traffic flow and create a more harmonious transition between the library and its outdoor space. We also collaborated with existing sculpture artist James Hetherington to find a new location for the art piece that would offer increased visibility and accessibility for visitors. Designed to reflect the unique character of the newly renovated library, we used native plants to highlight the lobby entry, signage, and relocated sculpture to create a cohesive environment that embodies the library’s mission of fostering education, creativity, and community connection.
